Y., Nov. 30th, 1829. He taught school in his native state for several months at nine dollars per month. He came west in the fall of 1851, and taught school south of Elmwood, Peoria county, in this state; after which he came to Farmington and clerked for A. D. & H. Reed, remained in their employ several months, and then went into business for himself. With one exception, he has been in business longer than in any other man in Farmington. Mr. Stetson was married to Miss Louisa Reisinger on the 7th of December, 1854. She was born in Wayne county, Ohio, May 19, 1831. Their family consists of three children -- two sons and one daughter -- as follows: Albert L., born October 8th, 1855; Henry Elmer, born April 2,1861; and Mary Eliza, born June 5th, 1866.
